What Does Varlo Mean?

Varlo is derived from the word Valor — meaning courage in the face of the unknown. It represents bravery, strength of mind, and the relentless will to confront and overcome unseen obstacles and challenges. At its core, Varlo is more than a name. It is a mindset to rise, endure, and achieve what once felt unattainable.

The Origin of Varlo

The genesis of Varlo began at a finish line. Our founder, Soj, a former NCAA Division I 400m runner, had achieved podiums and historic records throughout his track career. But crossing the finish line at his first triathlon hit differently. Unlike the familiar rhythm of a track meet, this was foreign terrain — learning to swim, grinding through long bike sessions, and pushing past comfort zones.

It wasn’t just a race. It was a transformation. The sacrifices, the early mornings, overcoming fears faced in open water, and the sweat-soaked hours on the road all came rushing to the surface. That finish line symbolized not just an accomplishment, but the realization that growth begins where comfort ends.
